Original ART for Sale

I have had a camera and a box of paints by my side since I was a young child. My favorite things to do throughout my life have been taking pictures and painting. Although my Photography can stand on its own merit, I often use my camera as part of the process for developing ideas for my paintings. Photo arrangements as a collage on the computer in Photoshop, allow me to create computerized sketches to assist me in the final work.

I have always been fascinated with surrealism and symbolism in Art and strive to capture my inner most personal experiences by often painting in this style.

I have frequently been asked about the Native American symbolism in some of my work. I’m fascinated by their culture and their beliefs that everything is sacred on this earth and that a lesson can be found in all things and experiences. We all need to be in touch with our spirituality and the simple gifts that surround us on this Earth because that is what I have found will ultimately guide us through life.

Sometimes my work is straightforward and I will convey a metaphor in the painting by what I ultimately name the piece. At other times, I will lean more heavily on surrealism to get an idea across. My hope is that people may see a reflection of themselves in my work, and find strength in the knowing, that though we are all unique, we are not all so different and we truly are all connected.

ANIMAL SYMBOLISM

HORSE - travel, freedom and personal power. Personal power is our servant, to be neither abused, squandered, nor kept to ourselves. When we share our power with others and teach them how to nurture their own power, our journey becomes faster and more joyful.  It teaches us to travel forward on new journeys to discover our own power and freedom.
In Celtic tradition the horse-goddess governs the life cycle of birth, death, the afterlife, and rebirth; thus, to work with Horse medicine enables us to feel comfortable with all aspects of this cycle.
