A Short Biography
Paula M. Visnoski

Paula was born and raised in Massachusetts and now lives in Middletown, Rhode Island (just minutes outside of Newport) where she finds herself surrounded by the beauty of Aquidneck Island.

She became aware of her artistic abilities when she was about 5 years old...
"I couldn't stop drawing on things!"

Her art teachers throughout her academic years, went on to mold her artistic abilities into what would be a life long pursuit in art.

She graduated high school excelling in art, earning  the title "Most Artistic" in her high school year book. She studied with Larry Cron, known for his watercolors and graphic design work (Larry's website), and attended Worcester Art Museum and Worcester State college studying fine art, graphic design and photography.

In 2006 and 2007 she was a Member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP)

On Nov 17, 2006 | Larry Becker, NAPP Executive Director, wrote:"Congratulations! This is the Editors' Choice winner (the photograph: "Wetlands"). "Brilliant color emphasis from an image taken on a misty morning. Light, color, and composition remind us of paintings from the great masters."

Paula went on to explore the competitive world of art  and has participated in National Juried Art Exhibitions and Competions throughout the years. She is a 2008 winner for her watercolor painting "Predators & Prey"  in the International juried online art exhibition and Ezine presented by: The Manhattan Arts International Website

Paula is a recent WINNER OF 2 NEW INTERNATIONAL JURIED COMPETITIONS and received publication in 2 books:

  • Two paintings entered in an International Self Portrait Juried Competition, "Choices" and "Blind Leap of Faith" were picked to be published by New Art Review Publications in  The self-portrait book titled Dimensions of Disclosure now available for purchase at: http://www.new-art-review.com/bookstore.html


They wrote: "New Art Review publications feature the top new artistic talents of the year. We selected highly creative and edgy emerging artists to profile in our annual art exhibition publications.
If you are selected by our jury for our publication, a brief statement and select images of your work are published in our high quality color book format. Publication distribution to art dealers, galleries, art collectors, libraries, press and upcoming promotional events and exhibitions."

  • The photograph "Into the Light" received the honors in the International Photography Juried Competition sponsored by Canon and Photographer's Forum Magazine, to be published as a Finalist in the "Best of Photography 2009" hard cover book due out in stores by December 2009

Paula most recently was awarded 4 awards for her watercolor painting "Mortality" in "The American Art Awards" (online) juried art competion: 1st Place RENNAISANCE  -  5th Place WATERCOLOR  -  5th Place IMPRESSIONISM STILL LIFE  -  Finalist SPIRITUAL
