Your artwork has been accepted into the February 2009 exhibition.  The exhibition features the work of Charlene Chua, Micah Linton, Lauretta Lowell, Paula Visnoski, Ami Shin, Ben Roeder, Sumner Crenshaw, Callie Badorrek, Dan MacDonald and Nathan Anderson. The show will be on display at www.houseofscratch.com http://www.houseofscratch.com/ for the month of February.

We should let you know we’ve changed the format here at House of Scratch just a little bit. While the look of the site hasn’t changed, we’ve added a $50 prize to the “Best of the Best” designation.  It was always our intent to give out a cash prize for the top position, but until we knew if the idea was going to be viable or not, we weren’t confident to offer it.  Now that we are hosting our third successful show, we’re confident. So, to the victor go the spoils: a $50 prize, a spot in the Inaugural House of Scratch physical group show, and a special page on House of Scratch under the “Best of the Best” banner. J

We’re very proud of the February show!  It’s a fantastic mix of artist styles and topics.  Tell your friends.  Tell your family.  E-mail your Facebook connections!  Let them know of your accomplishment and be proud. Wonderful job everybody!

Welcome to the February 2009 Exhibition of Surreal and Imagination inspired art onHouse of Scratch. This month’s exhibition offers a wide range of mediums,  this time including illustration, graphic art and sculpture of the mixed media assemblage style. The techniques are strong and distinct, with expressions ranging from intense and dramatic to warm, humourous and fun. We also detect some classic influences by artists like Salvador Dali, William Blake, and Katsushika Hokusai, giving the show a timeless feel.

Now it is up to you, the viewer, to pick the artist(s) whose work you believe should be considered the “Best of the Best” in the exhibition. Take some time and view the entire show, then scroll to the end of the post and fill out our “Best of the Best” Survey.  Based on your informed opinion and those of the House of Scratch team, one artist will be designated “Best of the Best”, awarded a $50 cash prize and offered a spot in our first ever physical gallery group exhibition, as well as a special page on House of Scratch showcasing their artworks!
